The Advocacy Group
Description: A friend recently changed careers from teaching to parent advocacy. She mentioned that the current onboarding consisted of progressing through a slide deck with no level of interest or checks for understanding. Following a brief needs assessment an extensive documents review, and consultations, the sample course below was developed and presented to the company owner. This iteration is a scenario-based simulation of a single module. It contains checks for understanding and allows users to bypass prior knowledge while keeping those pages available for reference.
Result: Feedback from the company owner and current employees was positive and the module was personalized and integrated.
Time Spent: 30 hours

Checks for Understanding
Introduction and scenario videos were created using Vyond. The integration of multimedia adds interest and increases engagement with the material. Participants are encouraged to plan and gather information along with Mary, the parent advocate, as she takes on a new case.
Prior Knowledge
Checks for understanding are included in the module with instant feedback. Multiple-choice and select all that apply options are available. Feedback directs participants back to learning pages as necessary.
Accessibility
Participants may skip background knowledge pages as needed. These pages remain accessible if participants determine that they need the reference. Background knowledge pages are interactive, with examples of all content.
This module includes high-contrast text in a sans font for increased readability. All videos include audio-level controls and optional closed captioning.
