Fort Fun
Description: My mom was staying at Fort Wilderness during the holidays, but only had park tickets for an after-hours event. She wanted to experience Christmas at the "most magical place on Earth", so I collected information on events and sightings that I thought she would like and assembled it into a mobile guide. All pictures are publically available and information on dates and times came from the company's public website. This project was not distributed, or used for monetary gain.

At the Fort
A tabbed interface provided general information about Fort Wilderness.
Daily Activities: non-holiday daily happenings including the movie schedule, and crafts for the duration of stay.
Holiday Happenings: holiday-specific events and locations
Getting Around: a guide to the internal bus system, the external bus system, and the boat launches. This section included a map.
Hot Buttons
Using a property map, I created points of holiday interest that did not require additional admission. These points of interest were grouped so the options were not overwhelming and the map was still accessible. This made the experience easy to navigate and user-friendly on a cell phone.
Sample Information
Clicking on one of the hotlinks opens a text box of information. Each option includes:
-
A title and a brief description
-
Directions from the Fort to the location
-
An explanation of what can be seen that provides enough details to entice, but not spoil any fun or surprises.
